Hoorah. Although, of course, now I need it I can't find it.
Somewhere in the pile of papers that are awaiting the recycling collection in the, ahem, box in the hall is an article that I'm sure says that Jan 24 is officially the most depressing day of the year.
Well, it's gone. which means the good news is that every one of the next 364 days is better than yesterday. Even if it's only in a small way.
I do ponder if this is cyclical like the phases of the moon, so that in 28 days time we'll be at another nadir, only it will be slightly less deep than yesterday. If I'm right, then in 14 days from yesterday (Feb 7) we should all be in a state of happiness to a greater or lesser extent. Or is yesterday the only officially depressing day of the year? If so does that, offically, make all other days non-depressing?
Anyway, pondering apart, congratulations for getting through the year so far. And now we all get the good stuff.
Which is no more than we deserve.
Official update: it was Jan 23rd. It just lasts longer than 24 hrs in Oxon. Good news is we're one extra day away from that particular trough of despond.

What an excellent thought. I didn't know yesterday was going to be depressing so I didn't notice it. And now I don't have to worry about it :)
Thank you again for drawing my attention to something I would otherwise have missed!
and there was me thinking it was Jan 23rd; I tore that article out of the paper, thus it hasn't been recycled; will check dates and report back
(writing this while sitting next to my anti-SAD lightbox)
Holds breath in anticipation, and no faint hope that we may be a day further away from the horror...
why does the comment thingy suddenly look different?
word ver: Rekjavik (steaming mud baths and geysers and volcanoes)
Me. find it easier than in little window
me I'm a steaming volcano spewing mud, or me I need to peek thru bigger windows at what's going on as they offer a better view than small windows?
it's OK, I'll shut up now
(ps VAT?)
thank god we're passed it!
