Isn't life great?! We'll always have the lovely reliable BBC. Isn't it wonderful to know that we'll always be able to rely on it for informed and intelligent debate. And even if you don't always agree with everything it says (and that's a good thing, surely?) the Beeb can always be relied on to stimulate AND inform. How wonderful.
Let me take you on a short journey. Come with me for a moment to the BBC Sports coverage, and thence to the 606 message boards. I take a peek at them occasionally and my jaw falls open with a shocked thump. Here before you is prejudice, racism and personal abuse. It's not encouraging, it's not attractive and it's debatable if it serves any useful purpose.
Which leaves me with one question. Why?
And it also leaves me feeling soiled and dirty, because I like football. It's just the fans that are a problem.

I personally don't much like the players or the commentators either. Other than that, it's great.
Virtual football, played in total silence in a vacuum, that's what we want.
It's only a few of the fans that spoil it. Although some of the players are worse these days. I'd love to see the refs wearing mikes like they do for the rugby - I bet that would stop half of the players from opening their mouths.
