As unlike London Buses as it's possible to be

In that when you are waiting for a London bus none comes for ages then three turn up at once. Here the posts have all turned up at once. The crucial difference is that you were, quite rightly, not waiting for them. Nor was I as it happens. But they still turned up.

So yesterday. I sold some stuff. A good day for me, a quiet day on the market. Here's a picture of the stall (I find a good game while you are waiting for the photo-blogger page is to try and follow one of the little blue bands with your mouse. Wastes hours, and helps your mouse accuracy. No, no need to thank me).

Anyway this is the stall that Mig and Frangelita saw. Crikey, my first real blogmeet. Mig and I had a sort of blog 'ships passing in the night' moment once at her place of work, but this was the first time we actually conversed and shook hands. Why, I even kissed her fragrant cheek on departure.

I recommend you place Mig and Fran high on your list of 'must meet' bloggers. I just wanted to sweep them both up and go for a lovely coffee in Borders, or Browns or somewhere and chat and find out all about them. Lovely happy smiley people. I hope they come to the market again, and often.

And that Fran. What's the phrase? Oh yes: Phwoar.

One of the best bits about working on the market is meeting people. Getting to know the other stallholders has been a joy and a revelation for me. I am finding out things about myself that, for once, and for a change, I quite like.

*Watch out: self congratulatory waffling upcoming. Section worth skipping.
What?
Oh, yes, I see, whole post worth skipping.
Whole Blog?
Yes, you're probably right.*

I seem to be having a good 2006. What with the smallest person belonging to the other half starting to do well at school and becoming a well-behaved chap who is often the most fun of all of them to spend time with, and what with his mum actually saying** I must have had something to do with this transformation, and what with actually enjoying working for a living, and so on, things seem to be moving in roughly good direction. Cripes!

I came home from work last night, utterly exhausted and barely able to creak around the house, but I said "is it right to get so much pleasure from your work?" It's never happened before.

My fave T-short slogan is 'Walk with Jesus, but watch out for Sharks'.
I'm watching.

*Meanders off humming theme from Jaws.*

** Wonders will never cease.

*blushes* Thanks Beep. Your stall was very smart. I'm rarely in Oxford on a Thursday (living, as I do, in Suffolk) but if that changes I may well be back. Perhaps with cash if you still have those gorgeous yellow tea cups and saucers.

It would be impossible to not adore both Mig and Frangelita.

I realise now, of course, that my phwoar comment is completely inappropriate as I'm almost old enough to be Frangelita's Dad. I'm not a sicko. I just don't feel my age. Anyway, chaps, she's lovely, and very taken.

And the yellow china is gorgeous. It's Gladstone, by George Proctor a 'potteries' firm, and is yellow and gilt. There's quite a lot of it: several side plates, saucers, three cups and two cake plates. I'm selling it for my sister "in law". No decent offer refused. You can see it in a picture about here someplace.

typical

don't check your blog for a day and miss three posts

bit like not actually waiting at the bus stop for a bus, cos you think there's a transport strike and it turns out that buses have been turning up all along

love the stall, BTW, more to the point

The stall was very enticing..if the company hadn't been so good I might have spent actual money! I feel it's unwise to comment on the phwoar-ness of my daughter, I shall simply bask in the reflection :)

(And the feeling is entirely mutual Thursday :)

is there a transport strike? or have the buses gone on a different route?
