When phones were added to mobiles I poo poo-ed the idea. I couldn't see what possible use there was for them.
Took me a while. It wasn't until about an hour after my first mobile camera that I began to get it. And that was about twelve months after everyone else.
Now?
I chose my latest phone on the capability of its camera. A Sony k800i. It makes calls too I believe.
Here's where I tried to find to what it can really do, last August. Quite a lot as it turns out:
Now the buggers have introduced the Nokia N95. Sigh. A proper camera with a phone attached.
Nag nag nag. The voice in my head is nagging me to 'just go and look', 'what harm can it do, just to look' and so on and on. Yeah yeah, and I was thinking about a new small digi camera to carry in my pocket as my last one turns out to be a bit of disappointment. The N95 might do both, just like the one I've already got. But my Sony has got six months left on the contract. 'Just a look...'. Nag nag nag.
Just so as you can be aware of the latest trends: I don't get the rush in Sat Nav. Most of my journeys are local and I know my way. Or I still have enough brain left to be able to read a map and remember a route. Sat Nav? I'm officially poo-poo-ing the idea. You have been warned.

I know the feeling Beep, I've been poo-pooing the idea of a new suit.
how did you know I was thinking of getting a new suit?!
Oh, I see. for you.
Come and buy it in Oxford, then we can all advise you!
on the SatNav I had a thought this morning. Do any of them use those little green "trafficmaster' camera thingies to tell you where the jams are? That MIGHT be moderately useful. Although I still reckon I'm better at working out how to get round them with a map and a brain. But knowing they were there would be helpful
cool photos!!!
WAY COOL
don't really understand camera phones myself. . . how do you get the piccies off your camera and onto something else?
Blue toof
sounds like you need to go to the dentist (if only I'd posted this seven minutes ago I could have said toof hurty)
how does one blue tooth then?
Yes how does one? I'm still poo-pooing the camera phone...I'd prefer to lug a several ton bag full of camera, kitchen sink and anything else I might possibly need, around on my shoulder.
However I'd rather like satnav. I might get one in twenty years time when everyone else has got the newest and best thing.
And the pictures are very cool :)
ah well, not only does my new phone have a 5 mp camera, it also has maps and satnav, and a blue tooth.
which is dead straightforward on a mac, but lord knows on your steam PC things. if you've got it at all that is?
