I miss John Lennon. I know he was a wife-beater, and a serial adulterer, probably racist (anti-Jewish anyway) and a host of other things. But then I don't expect anyone to be perfect, least of all geniuses (genii?) and I don't expect to have to like or judge a musician for his personal qualities. He created some great music, and I more than forgive him the stuff that was less than great (compared with P McCartney who created Frog Chorus and Mull of bloody Kintyre and should be punished) and he had a great gift for making us think. He was both ahead of his time and of his time. And I miss him.
