Wake up and smell the coffee

I think, when all is said and done that my taste in coffee, if in not much else, is distinctly ordinary. I find all that all those poncey coffees in the Starbucks, and so on, of the world leave me, as they arrive, cold.* I prefer a simple mug of Gold Blend, fully leaded. One very heaped teaspoon, generous milk in first, and no sugar.

The only kind of percolated coffee I can bring myself to make is the kind where you put the water in the bottom. As it heats it is forced through the coffee powder to emerge in the top half. Not only is the coffee good, but the machine is stylish. I have an electric one, a DeLonghi from John Lewis. It works. I use it.

I also have an espresso maker. It works. I don't use it.

* naturally an exclusion to this is espresso in Italy, standing at the bar of a cafe in say Florence. or when in Spain, a Cafe Carahio (???Sp) - which has a generous dollop of Spanish brandy in and is best taken in the seated position.

see, I was right from the very start, wasn't I! very smug now (it is catching)

(although maybe you buy milk reguarly enough not to have to sniff the carton/bottle) (I do, however 'fresh' the container is, because sometimes even though the date looks good the contents can still be sour. . . yes, that is extremely cryptic)(so smug now I might have to go and throw up)

I got the cryptic, and have put salve on the wound.

I also sniff the contents (I have a very sensitive nose. This may be future relevant) of everything, not least milk because I, if you remember, have an agric degree and then worked in pharma for a while. Trust milk? You jest. I love it, but if I leave it out by mistake ---------> bin. Immediately. Same the day before sell by date. Down the sink.

Is it just me or are the passwords getting longer?

well, your passwords might be getting longer, but some people's abilities to provide decent answers to deserving questions are definitely deficient; and I'm saying no more until this is rectified

na na ne na na

:-@ (that's someone sticking their tongue out BTW)

oh, how true - but have you noticed how the sans serif red/green ones are always shorter than the other type?
