To be Blunt

My life is brilliant.

I just got a letter saying "[my son] did very well in the tests and we are delighted to allocate him a place on the main list".

Which means that next year he gets to go to the school of his (and my) choice. Forgive me a proud moment but six months ago I had an unhappy little boy on my hands who was down and lacking in confidence. By working with his school and me he has turned it round. He has made monumental efforts and with them has come the rewards. As well as academic success as above, in the last ten days he has also scored two tries for his school's rugby team, won Man of the Match for his South Chiltern League football team and got a distinction in a music competition on his 'cello. And as a result of all this growing success, based on his really hard work, I now have a confident and happy little boy at home.

I could not be more proud and happy.

And no more of that Pink Floyd stuff. No more "If"s.

'Scuse us, we're off to the BMX park to throw his Christmas present off some very steep looking sharp and hard things.
What me, worry?
