It's not just that everywhere I look there are boxes. There is a kind of ache for the safety of the life we have now, and the fact is that I am folding it away and sealing it into recycled cardboard, and sealing it with brown tape.

For me, there is the added layer in that I only unpacked this lot last August. But every book you place in there, every CD, every item of linen, or kitchen utensil has a place in ones personal history. And the rememberances are making me quite extraordinarily sad.
But I suppose those are the rules of packing your life up. It's a natural time for a little stock-taking. Unlike the boxes, my shelves are empty.
